Deviation Actions
The inimitable ShadowedAcolyte, who not-so-long-ago became one of those people who decide on literary Daily Deviations has, to my great pleasure, chosen to feature my piece The Gas Mask today for a Daily Deviation! He called it "a visceral, painful piece of short prose", although one might note it was put into the non-fiction category. Endless thanks to Ross for trawling through my old archives. I wrote it in 2009 - that's 5 years ago! - and re-reading it now reminded me how traumatized I was (and, I suppose, still am) of my short stint in the army 
Although it feels a little embarrassing today (some people have had actual traumatic experiences, and I'm complaining about some silly training exercise!), I'm still happy I wrote it when I did. The mind is good at forgetting things that were upsettting, and that's wonderful, but there's value to remembrance as well. Especially when sublimated into, well, "art" (I have a very liberal definition of art, but feel free to disagree about whether or not this constitutes 'art' or not): anyway I'm really glad ShadowedAcolyte chose this particular piece to feature, old as it is!

Myths, Monsters and Mutations!
I am published again, hooray! Flash Fiction Month 2016
Hello all!
So for your who follow me, you should already be familiar with the torrent of new flashes coming this month - as it is once again July, which means Flash Fiction Month is here!
As is traditional, I am more busy than I can possibly express - July is literally the worst. But that hasn't stopped me before, so...here we go! Another 31 one flashes coming up.

The Bottom of the Well

It doesn't make any sense to 'submit' this as a deviation, so a journal it is. I made a game! With some help, of course. It's been pretty rad, I have to say. It's a choose-your-own adventure style game with a crapload of text (well, duh, what else kind of game would I make?), and it's been out now for a...week? I just recently fixed a few bugs and uploaded a new-and-improved version - if y'all want to go have a look-see, that'd be super! It's entirely and completly free ->
